I don't need on board photo preview screen. I don't need SD or other memory card support. I'm not sure if I need scanning of negatives. ![]() ![]() I would LIKE easy options for copier such as zoom or reduce. Wide availability of replacement printhead. Mac OSX, Win 7, 8.1 and Win 10 compatible.Įthernet,USB and WiFi connectivity. MX860/MX870 features that are important to me going forward11 include:Īutomatic feed for duplex scanning and for duplex printing. Refilling carts isn't my favorite thing but if it yields a much better quality solution at a lower price than me buying non-oem MX922 carts I will happily become a cart refiller. I print mostly color on plain paper but need capability to print good quality photos on photo glossy paper.Ī used MX870 will cost me about $100 USD including shipping.Ī New MX922 will cost me about $100 USD including shipping. ![]() The total cost of the 20 carts was only ABOUT $50 USD I hate losing the value of my existing 20 MX860 carts but will do that for a much better solution. Please share your OPINION/RECOMMENDATION on Options 1, 2a or 2b- I understand it will be YOUR opinion. I think their refillable cart acts like an OEM cart in respect to amount of ink, low ink warnings and prevention of running with no ink. I saw a web page for Precision Colors that indicated they have a refillable CLI 250/251. I don't understand the discussion about re-setting chips for recent model Canon printers. I'll say Option 2a is the MX922 and non-oem carts.Īnother Option I'll call Option 2b is to buy refillable MX922 carts and buy good quality ink. They contain about 50% more ink than MX870 carts but cost about double MX870 cart prices. There are non-oem CLI 250/251 carts for the MX922. I would not be able to use my 20 carts and likely could not sell them either. I think that it has all the features of my MX860. I can use my on-hand cartridges and continue to buy non-oem carts. Option 1 for me would be to buy a used Mx860 or better still a used MX870 printer. I have been using non-oem compatible, non-refillable cartridges for the MX860. I'm having emotional withdrawal symptoms without a color printer! I now need to decide among options to replace my Canon MX860 printer. See my other posts over the last 2-3 days about the MX860 issues. I am giving up on fixing my 2 broken MX860 printers. ![]()
